Licensure and certification requirements vary by profession and from state to state. The US Department of Education requires higher education institutions to disclose whether a program would fulfill educational requirements for licensure or certification if the program is designed to or advertised as meeting such requirements. Institutions are required to provide a list of all States, indicating whether the program curriculum a) meets such requirements, b) does not meet such requirements, or c) whether the institution has not made such a determination.
Please know that a Does Not Meet or Have Not Made a Determination status does not indicate that you will be unable to obtain licensure or certification in your state. Common causes for a Does Not Meet or Have Not Made a Determination status may include the following:
- Your home state certification agency requires a transcript review prior to application for certification.
- Your home state requires you to take an additional course or exam specific to that state’s history or laws. These courses and exams are not offered in Nebraska.
- Your home state does not have an equivalent for an endorsement completed in Nebraska.
