Danielle Battisti, Ph.D.
Associate Professor & Graduate Program Chair

Danielle Battisti, Ph.D., specializes in immigration and ethnic history. Her current research interests include addressing the gaps in political discourse, the academy and popular memory about the history of illegal or undocumented European immigration to the United States from the 1920s to 1950s and the immigration laws of that time. Her other new research examines American involvement in the creation and operations of the Intergovernmental Committee for European Migration, a postwar NGO created in 1952 and charged with resettling European Displaced Persons to the Americas and Oceania.

To be accepted to this program, you must have:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree.

  2. Cover letter with a personal statement included.

  3. Writing sample. Academic-style writing sample of approximately 5 pages in length.

  4. Two letters or recommendation from a former professor (preferred), supervisor or individual who can speak to one's academic potential in a graduate program.

  5. 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale.
