Program Overview
The online Cybersecurity, Graduate Certificate program is designed to provide students with the knowledge to manage information-related risks by ensuring confidentiality, integrity, authentication, availability and non-repudiation of data.
Cybersecurity is an emerging, rapidly expanding science that addresses problems in the fundamental understanding of the design, development, implementation, and life-cycle support of secure information systems.
Students of this program gain skills to:
- Analyze a problem, identify and define the security requirements appropriate to its solution and implement the requirements.
- Create an effective presentation for a range of audiences that explains the problem, security issues and requirements and presents a solution.
- Function effectively on teams to accomplish a common goal in a professional, ethical, legal and responsible manner.
Credits earned from this program can be applied to the Master of Science in Cybersecurity degree.
Career Outlook: The need for secure information systems has become a paramount concern as the computer-enabled, Internet-connected, digital-based global society of the 21st century emerges. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for computer and information technology occupations is growing at a rate of 11%, much faster than the average for all occupations.
Admissions and Requirements
To be accepted to this program, you must have:
A Bachelor's degree
3 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale
Taken the GRE
A written personal statement
1 letters of recommendation
Official transcripts from all previous schools

Depending on the student's experience, they may be required to take the following prerequisite courses:
- CSCI 2240 Introduction to C Programming or CYBR 2250 Low-Level Programming
- CSCI 3550 Communication Networks or ISQA 3400 Information Technology Infrastructure
- CYBR 3350 Security Administration - Linux or CYBR 3370 Security Administration - Windows
Students will also take two additional classes from the Cyber Operations concentration of the Cybersecurity, MS
