Experience Online Learning the Way It Should Be

Engaging programs that help you achieve your goals

Thoughtfully Designed Online Learning

During recent years, terms such as online programs, remote coursework and digital learning became common. At the University of Nebraska, those terms were already part of our culture. We have a long history of providing quality distance education using the latest technology and most effective methods. This creates a seamless, professional experience that provides working adults the flexibility they need and the quality they expect from a leading university.

Flexibility

Most courses are asynchronous, allowing students flexibility to participate in the course while following syllabus and deadline requirements.

Online Community

Online courses are highly interactive with faculty and students communicating through e-mail, discussion forums and chat groups.

Course Length

Most courses follow a traditional semester schedule with fixed start and end dates. Eight-week sessions are available for many programs.

Time Demands

Rigor and time demands are similar to those in a traditional classroom. Online students should expect to spend 9-12 hours per week, per course.

Technical Skills

Online students need basic computer skills (e.g. downloading software, using e-mail and web browsers). Support services are available.

Time to Degree

Completion time varies by student and program. Most students studying online at NU attend part-time and take one or two courses per semester.

Support and Resources

As an online student at NU, you join a supportive network of faculty, students and alumni.

"For those who are considering starting a program but are unsure about online, do not be intimidated by the online format. I had taken zero online courses in my life before this and it was an easy transition. Even if you are not computer savvy, they have your back."
